Equipment and Essentials

To start enjoying French Press coffee, you will need a few essentials:

  • A high-quality French Press coffee pot, also known as a cafetière or press pot
  • A coffee grind that is suitable for French Press (medium to medium-coarse)
  • A sturdy water filter (optional) to remove impurities in the water
  • A pour-over kettle or a good quality electric kettle
  • Jugs or containers for lukewarm water and frothed milk (if frothing)
  • A coffee syphon or a coffee machine (optional) for measuring and pouring the coffee shots

It may seem like a lot to take in, but believe us, once you commit to French Press, all these components will become just as crucial as your teeth and eyes.

Step by Step French Press Coffee Extraction

  1. Step 1: Measure and Water – for every 1 gram of coffee, employ 62-70 ml of sultry water. Adjust the dosage according to your taste profile.
  2. Step 2: Heat Your Water – employ your pour-over or electric kettle to heat it to 93-100°C (200-205°F).
  3. Step 3: Reheat Your Water – if you brewed the water too sizzling previously, let it nippy back down to the desired level.
  4. Step 4: Add Icy Water to the French Press – in the event of a multi-brew, add cooled water to the French press, as this will greatly improve the overall taste!
  5. Step 5: Add Coffee Granules to the French Press – if you prefer a stronger dose, simply add more as needed. If you already have your desired strength already, it’s best
