Moccamaster once again awards Pantone the color of the year

Not to stir up more controversy where it doesn’t necessarily need to exist, but what the hell is it Pantone act? The beloved universal color system has once again challenged us with its Color of the Year. This was after last year’s disaster Mocha Mousse— certainly the least satisfying part of velvety chocolate mousse is the unsettling brownness of it all — they came back this year and said, “OK, okay, here’s the white one or something.” Technically it’s called Cloud Dancer“a sublime white that serves as a symbol of a calming influence in a society rediscovering the value of peaceful reflection.” It’s an eggshell, whitish, that’s what it is.

Fortunately for all those who have a penchant for colors Master of Mochawhich once again proved that it is who in shades, presenting the latest colorway of the iconic coffee machine. Introducing true color of the year 2026, Sorbet.

This is color. Announced over the weekend, Moccamaster describes the fresh color as a “vivid coral shade” that “symbolizes vitality and refreshment, reflecting the rejuvenating energy of spring.” Of course, I’m skeptical about Sorbet because, firstly, it looks great on a coffee machine, and secondly, it reminds me of Blackgazers Deafheaven’s breakthrough album “Sunbather”.which they describe as the color you see when you close your eyes after looking at the sun. So if you’re asking whether I’ll buy Moccamaster Sorbet just to put a Sunbather sticker on it, you already know the answer.

“This addition underscores Moccamaster’s commitment to combining form and function, offering consumers aesthetically pleasing coffee makers that complement current kitchen trends,” reads the press release. This “[builds] in keeping with its annual tradition of offering a wide range of colors to suit any kitchen decor.”

The fresh color is available on the Moccamaster KBGV, the market-leading glass carafe coffee machine and one of the first SCA-approved coffee machines. (They also just released their first non-metallic color variant of their thermal carafes, in black, which is quite pointed.)

The fresh color of the year Moccamaster KBGV Sorbet retails for $369 and can be purchased at the Moccasmaster store. And while you’re there, choose the next color of 2025, the blue-green serenity known as Ocean. I’m not saying you need two Moccamasters. I’m just saying that the Sorbet and Ocean coffee counter would be inimitable.
