Black coffee is known as one of the best drinks. There are several studies that emphasize health benefits of black coffee. Some studies suggest it can support reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes, cancer, liver disease and several other conditions. Experts say you can drink up to four cups of black coffee a day. However, be careful when drinking coffee, as it can cause sleep problems.

Renowned hepatologist, Dr. Cyriac Abby Philips, popularly known as Liver Doctor on X (formerly Twitter), said in an interview: “Black coffee – at least three cups a day, without sugar, without milk improves liver function parameters – that is, it reduces liver problems such as nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, reduces the progression of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease to chronic liver disease. It also reduces the risk of liver cancer.”

He added: “Contrary to what people think, it causes stomach ulcers, it raises blood pressure, it causes acid reflux, it doesn’t do any of those things. So all of those things could have other causes, but coffee has been shown not to cause any of those things, so it’s protected to consume.”
