Do not be an alarmist, but we all run towards our inevitable homes. Not in the sense of “the world is on fire”, although it is so, but more marked as a general statement that people are not immortal. The end is coming to all of us and in general, the last few years are the loudest. But a up-to-date study states that drinking coffee can facilitate you enhance solid in aged age.
Appearing recently in the journal The up-to-date study analyzes the impact of “current ordinary and average coffee consumption” on weakness when individuals go to aged age. To do this, they assessed 1161 “older adults living in the community” at the age of 55 and the elderly, who took part in the longitudinal study of the aging Amsterdam.
Participants were asked about their habits related to the consumption of coffee – the number of days a week consumed coffee, the number of cups per day, decaf or caffeine, etc. – and had continuations after three and seven years. They were grouped based on daily consumption: 0 cups,> 0–2,> 2-4,> 4-6 and> 6 cups. Using the group> 0-2 as a control, the group> 2-4 was 73% less likely that they experienced a fraility, which they define as fulfilling one or two of five fried fragility: unintentional weight loss, low physical activity, leisurely walking speed and weakness. > 4-6 and> 6 were 36% and 37%, respectively, respectively.
Looking at specific criteria, the group> 2-4 was associated with a 60% decrease in unintentional weight loss, and groups> 2-4, 4–6 and> 6 were associated with 69%, 60% and 55%, respectively, a decrease in opportunities for the development of weakness, which was assessed by the strength of their grip.
These results are in line with the results of a similar study from 2023 by the National University of Singapore, stating that regular coffee consumption is associated with reduced fragility in aged age.
Although the exact mechanisms of findings require further research, scientists suggest that coffee antioxidants, “including caffeine, polyphenols and other bioactive compounds” can work to reduce oxidative stress and inflammation that are associated with fragility. Another potential explanation may be that coffee has been associated with reduced opportunities for sarkopenia, a condition associated with age, which reduces muscle mass.
Regardless of the exact mechanisms in the game, one is becoming more and more clear: coffee can facilitate you stay in golden years. So drink now. Your own measures will thank you later.
