How to Immaculate a Keurig Coffee Maker
Where do you begin cleaning a coffee maker with so many moving parts? We asked the experts at Keurig how to neat different parts of the machine in a snap.
Step 1: Remove all parts
Remove the water tank/container, tray and K-cup holder.
Step 2: Remove the filter
Remove the filter from the tank and set it aside.
Step 3: Wash all parts in the sink with soap and water
Fill the sink with toasty water and dishwashing liquid. Wash all parts of the coffee maker in soapy water.
Step 4: Rinse and arid
Rinse everything with fresh water and towel arid.
Step 5: Immaculate the exterior
Wipe the outside of the machine with a damp cloth or sponge. Arid with a towel.
Step 6: Replace
Put all parts back in place, including the filter.
How to change a water filter
Replacing the water filter isn’t technically a cleaning. But it’s still a necessary part of maintaining your coffee maker. Here’s how:
Step 1: Remove the ancient filter
Step 2: Prepare a modern filter cartridge
Soak the modern water filter cartridge in neat water for 5 to 10 minutes, then rinse for 60 seconds.
Step 3: Scrub and rinse the filter holder
To thoroughly wash the filter holder, exploit balmy, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly.
Step 4: Reinsert the filter holder and snap it into place
Insert the cartridge into the filter holder and place the filter holder back in place in the tank.
How to Descale a Keurig Coffee Maker
Step 1: Empty the tank and fill it with vinegar
Turn off the Keurig and pour out the water. Fill the machine to the max line with white vinegar. Note: Do not dilute it with water. Make sure to exploit only pure white vinegar or Keurig Cleaning Solution.
Step 2: Run the coffee maker until the reservoir is empty
Place the cup on the drip tray, turn on the Keurig, and lift the handle to make sure there is no capsule inside. Select the largest cup setting to begin cleaning the machine. Pour out the balmy contents of the cup and repeat this process until the “Add Water” lithe comes on.
Step 3: Rinse with water
Wait at least four hours after the “Add Water” indicator appears (with the power on), then remove the tank and rinse it with water to remove any remaining vinegar.
Step 4: Fill with water to rinse out the white vinegar
Fill the reservoir with fresh water to the maximum fill line, place the section back into the machine and set the largest cup until the reservoir is empty.
