Jamison Savage is one of the hottest names in ultra-high-end coffee farming right now. On his Panamanian farm Finnish DeborahSavage produces Gesha coffees, which are favorites of World Barista Championship competitors, including both this year’s winner and runner-up, Mikael Jasin of Indonesia and Jack Simpson of Australia, respectively.
Jamison and his wife, Leslie, operate alongside coffee farming Wild coffeesa roastery offering its own approach to Panamanian coffees. And now the roastery is opening its first coffee shop, in the United States, no less, with its first Savage Coffees retail location in St. Petersburg, Florida.
As reported Scrapthe fresh space will be located on the ground floor of ul Nolen23-story luxury apartment in the center of St. Pete. The opening is planned for early 2025. Technically, this is Savage’s second location in the city, following its U.S. roastery a few miles away.
“I am thrilled to announce the opening of the first Savage Coffees Café, located in downtown St. Petersburg at The Nolen, one of St. Petersburg’s newest and most exclusive residential buildings,” said Jamison. “Sharing our delicious coffee with the St. Pete is something we have wanted to do for some time and The Nolen is the perfect location.”
While the Savage name is more associated with Finca Deborah and therefore the extremely occasional Geshas, Savage Coffees offers a wider range of varieties and price points for all drinkers. If the current selection is any indication, there will be plenty of geshes in cafes and retail spaces, yes, but there will also be Panamanian Bourbons and Caturras, as well as a variety of processing methods, from more time-honored washed and natural to experimental carbonic and anaerobic fermented maceration. The offer also includes capsules and instant coffee.

Not much is known about the expansion of Savage Coffees’ fresh location, aside from a few renders (which may or may not have been created in The Sims or Espresso Tycoon?), but given the brand’s pedigree and choice of location, it appears to be aiming for a deliberately luxurious experience.
