One of the things about World of Coffee née Expo is that it’s practical, but not entirely practical. You can touch the hottest up-to-date hardware, but you can’t exploit it in any real way. You can certainly see how your up-to-date grinder works and even have someone take a shot for you on that fancy espresso machine, but have you managed to pull it off? Not exactly.
For World of Coffee lovers who want to really get their hands muddy, we have something for themselves Sey’s house. Hosted by Brooklyn’s Sey coffeeSey House is an opportunity for participants to make their own coffee using one of the best devices on the market.
It will take place on April 9vol until 12vol located just a half-mile walk from the San Diego Convention Center, Sey House was created in partnership with Hyunah Coffee Clubmembership-based coffee studio in Brooklyn, built for the home user. The host will be Sey’s recently appointed Chief Research and Education Officer, YouTube personality and Sprudgie Award winner Lance Hedrick.
Completely free and open to the public, Sey House offers the opportunity to choose from “several unique batches” of coffee from renowned producers such as Pepe and Jose Jijón of Finca Soledad, Tamiru Tadesse Tesema of Alo Village, Estela Pitti of Los Cenizos and David Pohl of Finca Sophia, and exploit “a playground of the industry’s best brewers, grinders and espresso machines” to prepare your own cup. Expect gear from brands like La Marzocco, Decent, Weber, Flair, Fellow, Orea, Lotus, Bookoo and more.
Of course you can’t brew your own coffee. Sey House will host many guest brewers who will prepare something nice for you.
