These are the findings of a novel study on the effects of caffeine consumption and to be forthright, if they wanted to know, they could only ask.

For Medical ExpressThe goal was to determine how caffeine consumption at different times of the day affects the mood, both positively and negatively. To this end, psychologists from the German University of Bielefeld and Great Britain of the University of Warwick followed 236 youthful adult coffee in Germany. Within two to four weeks, participants had the task of performing compact questionnaires seven different times a day about their mood and whether they consumed caffeine in the last 90 minutes. The questions were given via a smartphone, thus enabling scientists to examine caffeine consumption in everyday life, as opposed to laboratory conditions.
They found that those who consumed caffeine in the morning, defined as occurring 2.5 hours after waking up, showed a significant relationship with a higher sense of happiness and enthusiasm than in cases where the same people are not at the same time. These positive feelings disappeared when coffee consumption was later moved during the day.
They also discovered that drinking coffee was associated with a reduced sense of sadness or nervousness towards the instance at the same time. The impact was smaller than the positive effect of morning coffee, but the correlation took place regardless of when consumption occurred on the day.
These results were also present regardless of the typical level of consumption or mental state. The main author Justin Hachenberger states: “We were a bit surprised that we did not find differences between people with different levels of caffeine consumption or different degrees of depressive symptoms, anxiety or sleep problems. The links between caffeine and positive or negative emotions were quite consistent in all groups.”
Scientists quickly noticed that the findings do not necessarily mean that caffeine cannot negatively affect people with the fear or problem of sleep. It is likely that people from this type of reactions to coffee probably avoid drinking, which is why they were not included in this study.
Despite this, for drinking coffee, drinking coffee in the morning is a necessity to improve mood. Not because you needed a group of psychologists to tell you. But it’s nice to hear.
