The 7 Best Drip Coffee Makers of 2024, Tested and Reviewed

The Breville Precision Brewer continues to be our top drip coffee maker. It has a sleek design, a thermal jug that kept coffee heated for over two hours in our test, a digital control panel, and a coffee filter holder that detaches completely from the machine, so you can wash all the parts for the best-tasting coffee.

It is highly configurable with “speedy”, “gold”, “sturdy”, “ice” and “frosty brew” settings. It can even brew a single cup of coffee after purchasing mounting kit sold separately, making it a great single-serve drip coffee maker. The flowering time (how long the coffee beans are soaked before brewing) and brewing temperature can also be adjusted. Coffee lovers will appreciate that this coffee maker comes with two different shaped baskets, a conical basket and a flat basket, which can be used according to your preferences – producing different tasting coffees!

In our tests, the coffee brewed quickly—a full 12-cup cup took less than a minute to brew, and a full 12-cup cup of coffee took 8 1/2 minutes. Most other coffee makers took 10 to 12 minutes. The coffee was sizzling and flavorful, and we loved that the control panel kept track of when the coffee was done.

Note: Our only gripe with the Breville Precision Brewer with Thermal Jug? We don’t like washing the jug by hand, but most thermal jugs aren’t dishwasher secure.
