The hottest fresh coffee equipment debuting at SCA Expo 2022

For the coffee junkie, Exhibition The weekend is practically a celebration. Over the course of three days at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, fresh and refreshed products from major coffee brands will make their official debuts, leaving you salivating over the latest technology. Whether you’re a home user or a coffee shop owner, the products on display at the Expo have something for anyone looking to upgrade their setup.

For those who can’t make it to Boston with a major case of FOMO, fear not! because here at Sprudge, we’ve rounded up some of the most exhilarating fresh things debuting at the Expo. It’s all about the excitement of the Expo, not the recycling of air.

The Marzoco

La Marzocco will debut its fresh products at SCA 2022. Check out the full coverage here , with highlights including a first look at the PB Comet, produced as part of Officine Fratelli Bambi’s fresh project, which Sprudge previously covered. The La Marzocco Pro app will also be on hand to debut Cropster’s fresh Cropster Cafe integration. Guests can also catch performances from the updated La Marzocco GB5 and the Wally Milk automatic milk frother. The La Marzocco booth itself is always a highlight, showcasing some of the best roasters in the coffee industry at the True Artisan Cafe Bar, and there are a few *very* special guest appearances planned for Saturday.

Rancilio Invicta

Rancilio wants to make a splash at this year’s Expo. Known in America primarily for its single-group Silvia home espresso machine, Rancilio wants to strengthen its position in coffee shops by launching a completely fresh Invicta. Available in two- and three-group options, Rancilio says the Invicta has “the most precise heat exchange system on the market.” The coffee maker uses a single boiler and adjustable heat exchange, uses a “thermosyphon” to circulate scorching water in the boiler when not in employ, and a “Clever Flush” to heat the group to the desired temperature. The touchscreen interface allows users to quickly switch between brewing parameters between batches.

Spectators will be able to try the Invicta for the first time on the Latte Art Championship stage, as it is the official machine of the inaugural competition. According to Rancilio, they will also be presenting at their booth “the fresh Kryo Evo on-demand grinders from the Rancilio Grindtec line, the Silvia Pro X with pressure gauge and pliable brew control technology, the fresh Rancilio Classe 5 and Classe 7 with Steady Brew, and the fresh milk system in the fully automatic Egro Next machine.”

Weber’s Workshop

For about a hundred years the design of the filter holder remained more or less unchanged, but Weber’s Workshop puts an end to this with the fresh Unifilter. Using a single piece of stainless steel – as opposed to the conventional configuration with a basket that slides in and out – the fresh Unifilter has perfectly vertical walls and “laser-ablated” holes that extend all the way to the edge of the basket, both of which claim to promote more even extraction. According to Weber, because the stock is made from a single piece of steel, heat retention is also greatly improved.

Dona

Just because it’s Coffee Expo doesn’t mean it has to be all about coffee. Dona, known throughout the specialty space for their chai and chai concentrates, is expanding into the world of loose-leaf teas. Premiering in Boston, their first line of loose-leaf teas will feature a selection of black and green teas, as well as herbal infusions.

To brew them, Dona lets out Tea press efficiencyborosilicate glass vessel reminiscent of a French press, available in both clear and emerald green finishes.

With these fresh capabilities, Cropster Cafe will automatically capture all brewing data to analyze various brewing parameters and better equip your café with the information it needs to improve consistency from shot to shot.

Marco Beverage Systems

Pour’d is the scorching fresh product that Marco must see at SCA Expo 2022. It’s a icy brew coffee dispenser – you can read about this fresh product here – and it’s the latest from the ever-innovative Marco Bev systems. You can pour both RTD and concentrate! Here’s more from Gemma Kiernan, Marco’s head of marketing:

“The real innovation behind POUR’D is the flexibility it allows. Marco did extensive research on icy brew – how it’s brewed, how it’s delivered, etc. – and discovered that different locations and different roasteries have different needs. POUR’D addresses all of that by bringing the icy brew service to the front of the house, meaning baristas don’t have to go to the fridge or manually stir the concentrate at the start of the day. It also means that one system can deliver icy brew, a shot of coffee, and scorching or icy water, allowing operators to serve multiple beverages from one system.

Enjoy the brands

For many roasteries, packaging is the customer’s first introduction to what their brand is. AND Enjoy the brandsone of the leading manufacturers of coffee bags, introduces a whole range of fresh tools to support enrich this experience. Focusing on the fresh SB5Dtheir fresh line of digitally printed bags, Savor introduces fresh initiatives that focus on both sustainability and user experience. Savor will also introduce its fresh product to the market Enjoy it live app, a white label mobile “all-in-one retail app.” With the app, cafes and roasteries “will be able to stream live events, create augmented and virtual reality experiences, and allow customers to order products for delivery or in-store pickup.”
