Upcoming coffee events that are particularly popular on social media

It’s been a long road back for the humble coffee event. COVID-19 brought coffee gatherings of all kinds, whether they were huge, multi-day megafests or smaller, community-driven DIY events, to a screeching halt, and without much momentum to sustain them, coffee events have been snail-paced to come back.

Regardless of how you feel about the pandemic effectively being over, we’ve reached a point of modern normality with cautious optimism and connection and a return to form for coffee events. For the first time in a long time, the coffee calendar is full, incredibly full, so we’re taking a look at some of the more thrilling events on the Sprudge Coffee events calendar happening around the world over the next month.

The feast of feasts

Who doesn’t look like a substantial coffee foofaraw? Get all the best roasteries and cafes in a city, state, or even the country under one roof and you’re sure to have a good time. Colorado just had a Coffee Show, Ljubljana, Slovenia has its next weekend, and Austin the weekend after that. Then there’s Coffee Fest Minneapolis in October, followed by Pittsburgh Coffee Week. North, south, east, or west, wherever you are, there’s a coffee festival.

Educational events

At the other end of the coffee meetup spectrum is the educational event. There’s so much to learn about coffee, and the learning opportunities currently on the calendar reflect that diversity. There’s Royal Coffee’s Development Stage, which takes an interdisciplinary approach to better understanding different aspects of coffee. There’s RE:BLOOM, a revamped community-focused SCA series that explores a wide range of topics across the coffee supply chain through talks and panel discussions. And for roasters, there’s a retreat in Michigan and workshops in Chicago.

Consumer-Driven Experiences

Similar to festivals, consumer experiences offer the people on the other side of the counter a chance to learn more and try modern and thrilling coffees. Unlike festivals, however, these events are often smaller and more intimate, allowing for more hands-on training and instruction. Klatch Coffee offers “The Empire Experience” to allow attendees to sample some of their newest offerings. And in Austin, Dona is hosting not one, but two different tea tastings, one at Houndstooth and the other at Violet Crown.

This is just a taste of the many, many thrilling coffee events on the horizon. There are sure to be many more, and you can keep up to date with them on the Sprudge Coffee events calendar.
