Like all our picks, this machine produces coffee concentrate that must be diluted with water or milk. We found that about 2 ounces of concentrate from each of our types was enough for a full glass of cold brew. If you can’t get our top pick, Filtron Cold Water Coffee Concentrate Brewer is a solid option. It’s larger (yields about 32 ounces of concentrate) and almost as easy to use. And it produces coffee that is tasty, but not as strong as OXO coffee.
It also comes with a tall plastic carafe, which is more durable than OXO glass carafes, although it is potentially more difficult to fit in the fridge.
However, the Filtrona felt filter can get moldy if stored improperly. The black plastic infuser is not very attractive, and emptying it into a carafe is a bit precarious. The drainage hole is also sealed with a simple rubber plug, which is a pain to remove and is a bit more prone to leaks than the seal on OXO infusers.
