Now there’s a Pumpkin Spice Slurpee (or PSLurpee, if you prefer)

Here we are, early August, official dog days. Summer is like that one friend you’re so excited to see show up, but has a way of sticking around. Like, Summer, good bro? Can I call you an Uber or something? And as has become tradition in this second half of the heated season, fall ideas are becoming reality. For brands, either because they’re doing the difficult work of making it happen for all of us, or because they want to be first to market, that means late-summer pumpkin spice, well, almost everything.

Now, 7-Eleven wants in on the action. The convenience store chain has announced a pumpkin-flavored version of its iconic summer treat, the Slurpee.

Announced via press releasethe up-to-date pumpkin spice Slurpee hit select 7-Eleven locations on August 1. And by selected, they mean extremely confined. Only five 7-Eleven and Speedway stores in the entire U.S. carry the PSLurpee. Los Angeles has two (5530 Valley Blvd. and 2030 A West 8th St.), Up-to-date York has one (82 Greenwich St.), Dallas also has one, in suburban Irving, where the convenience chain’s corporate office is located (3200 Hackberry Rd.), and there’s also one in notorious fast-food test site Enon, Ohio (90 N Xenia Dr.).

The up-to-date drink is described as “featuring the flavors of pumpkin and cinnamon blended together in a refreshing, icy Slurpee.” And even though they are confined, once the Pumpkin Spice Slurpee is gone, it’s gone. But maybe not for good? Dennis Phelps, Senior Vice President of Merchandising at 7-11, says, “The introduction of the Pumpkin Spice Slurpee is a fun experiment for fans in some of our top Slurpee markets. This year, you don’t just have to be a coffee lover to satisfy your pumpkin spice cravings!”

A fun experiment, you say? Perhaps, if all goes well, there will be a larger rollout in the future.

I may be ready for summer to be over, but I’m not sure I’m fully prepared for pumpkin spice. I need some time to get my bearings first. Now, if you want to throw me a pumpkin spice and Coca-Cola Slurpee in mid-September, who am I to say no? And why isn’t there a pumpkin spice Coca-Cola yet?
