New York coffee designEast Village Born Company, which boasts seven locations and an energetic online store, immerses your fingers on the market ready to drink with canned coffee drink, which they call Palmer coffee.
“Palmer coffee is a bit tart, a bit sweet and can be described as an interpretation of the summer Shanda or her namesake, Arnold Palmer,” says Dani Beldoch for Project Coffee Ny, “This is a mix of coffee and lemonade 60/40 with a polished balance of bitter, sweet and acid.”
“Palmer Coffee has been developed as a uncomplicated option for our clients who are looking for specialist quality in a more convenient format. It can be taken anywhere and is ready to drink to get accessibility for drinking coffee at all levels of skill.
Tell us about the product design.
Coffee Palmer cans were designed internally and took several sketches before settling on current iteration. The higher can is basic to stop, and the metallic foil included in the label attracts attention. Our favorite part is the Red Nutrition information label.
How long have you been working on this project?
As with any canned or produced product, development takes a long time: there are communication rounds, sampling, corrections, approval, design and shipping behind the scenes. At the beginning of 2025 we started working on cans.
Who is the target customer of this product?
We want anyone to enjoy Palmer coffee, but it is ideal for situations such as outdoor meetings, having an office-me-up, mixing with a cocktail or mock, traveling or parking days.
Do you have future RTD products in development?
Not yet! We give some time to assess customer response and collect feedback. However, we currently wear a separate option for customers: Instant Coffee Capsule, which is ready to drink in a few seconds. The capsule uses our drip mix “Woke Up in Modern York”, which we bake in Modern York before sending for production.
Final thoughts on the RTD category?
On smaller scales, such as the Modern York coffee design, they show greater interest in this niche, because it allows us to diversify our product catalog and gives us some insurance because shopping habits change. This may seem irrelevant, but a special coffee industry – consisting of all these tiny coffee -root companies – is balanced on unbalanced profits and the international trade market, which is currently extremely unstable.
RTD has its own set of challenges related to sustainable development, but there is a demanding market for the convenience of canned drinks or bottles. It’s no secret that younger people are more interested in mixed coffee drinks and comfortable coffee, so it would be nice to win coffee pinking.
Thank you!
