Hero Ptak arrested for *allegedly* stealing coffee

Hero Ptak arrested for *allegedly* stealing coffee

through the Korean Animal Rescue and Management Association

You know how sometimes people post pictures of cute animals and caption them with “that’s me”? This will be one of those moments.

A parrot in Seoul was arrested after stealing coffee. As reported “Chosun Journal”.Our hero bird is believed to be the yellow-crowned Amazon parrot – or, more prophetically, the yellow-crowned parrot – which is an endangered species and requires a special permit to own in South Korea. A parrot captured earlier this month by the Korean Animal Rescue and Management Association*allegedly* stole coffee from customers at a cafe in the Yangpyeong district of Seoul’s Yeongdeungpo district. This brave little fellow with a radiant yellow head, lightweight green body and red and blue plumage was also fed him some treats by the café owner before being arrested.

These are the details we know, but much remains unanswered. For example, what kind of coffee did our bird buddy steal? And how? Was it a to-go cup or a dessert he dropped in to grab? Did he grab it by the scales? Or was it more about sitting on the edge of the cup and drinking a few beak-shaped drops? Besides, who attacked our boy? If you thought you saw a bird stealing some coffee, nope!

And how does a bird develop a taste for coffee? The article noted that the parrot was well cared for and I can’t imagine coffee being part of a robust bird diet. Yet the café was the first place he visited. The bird needed repairs.

Another question, frustratingly left out of all reporting, is in which café all this took place. As a quick Google Maps search shows, Yangpyeong-dong has a lot of really good options. FB coffee roasteries for example, would be an excellent choice. Is Coffee graffiti AND Annual holiday at the cafe. There’s even a vegan option, aptly named Vegan Salonbecause I don’t know what birds think about meat. There are several Starbucks cafes in the area, but this one seems to be a parrot of taste and refinement.

What exactly is the name of this bird? None of the reports name the bird, so of course we’ll make up our minds. Lord Bean is an option. Why not Polly Piccolo Or Mr. Cuppers Or Squawkcchiato?. There is also Tim Wendelbird AND Pete Kakaw-ta for the world champion barista inclined. Of course, you can suggest your own names for the (alleged) coffee-stealing bird on our Instagram, as long as you promise to behave.

All I know is free the parrot! If the bird feels like it, let it drink coffee.
