Manument opens a factory in Thun, Switzerland and launches the novel Leva series for the US and Canadian markets

It all started in 2018 with a question: What if we completely rethought the classic manual lever espresso machine – the beginning of the first espresso? Engineers and coffee experts joined forces with an exceptional team of medical technology specialists and other experts, all driven by the ambition to not only improve, but completely reinvent the lever machine from scratch. Eighteen months later, the machine that now bears the name was created, consisting of 590 individual parts MANUMENT.

For over five years, MANUMENT has been delighting true espresso purists around the world. The novel Leva series is the next huge step: “For the first time, we produce each machine entirely in our own factory in Thun – assembled by hand with the precision of a Swiss watch.” In addition to our existing markets in Europe and the Middle East, the novel range is now officially launched in the North American market, as well as cafés, roasteries, hotels and restaurants. The global dealer network is constantly expanding – selectively, with an emphasis on long-term partnerships.

The coffee community has long noticed what is happening in Thun. James Hoffmann – one of the most influential coffee experts – sums it up: “The Swiss watch of lever machines.”

“With the opening of our own factory and the launch of the novel series, we are taking the next logical step: full control over every detail, every screw and every handle – made in Switzerland. This is our promise for every espresso.” – Henrik Mattern, CEO of MANUMENT
