“Room for dreams”: La Marzocco and the design boom during Milan Design Week

Milan Design Week begins today, attracting brands and design innovators from around the world to the Italian city. And that’s why it shouldn’t be a surprise La Marzoco not only will he be present, but he will also be an vigorous participant. The Florentine manufacturer of coffee machines will establish cooperation Design boomwho curates the weekly celebrations, to take over ME Milan Prince hotel for Room for dreams“an immersive platform where installations, talks and cinema come together to explore design as a tool for cultural and social transformation.”

The week is already set. It begins today with a lecture titled Short-lived Dreamscapes: Immersive Realities as Prototypes for Alternate Futures. Guest panelists include Paul Kelly (La Marzocco), Samir Bantal (AMO/OMA), David Mahyari (SolidNature), Christopher Dessus (Paf atelier) and Sofia Lekka Angelopoulou (designboom). The talk will focus on how design events like Milan Design Week construct “entire worlds… only to disappear a few days later” and how they can be more like experimental theaters, “spaces where emotional, symbolic and sensory futures are shaped, tested before taking on a lasting form.”

The next day, Room for Design goes full coffee mode and Accademia del Caffe Espresso La Marzocco presents Coffee Portraits. Each day for the rest of the week, a up-to-date roaster will take over the La Marzocco coffee cart at ME Milan Il Duca and serve one of their coffees that best represents a specific aromatic family. Smokers will be present La Sosta specialty coffee, Coffee plantation, Worker, Apart fromAND Garage Coffee Bros.

But perhaps the most electrifying news to come this weekend, at least for those who won’t make it to Milan, is the announcement of a up-to-date color line for La Marzocco’s home coffee machine and grinder line. The Linea Mini and Linea Micra coffee machines and the Pico grinder will receive three up-to-date, electrifying color options. Available in a neutral cream color, deep and saturated blue and brushed steel – a nod to the original La Marzocco Linea – they give a up-to-date look to your home favorites. (Pico will not be available in brushed steel.)

All the latest color options will be presented at ME Milan Il Duca during Milan Design Week.

Participation in all events is free of charge, registration is possible Here. More information about the installation can be found at the Accademia del Caffe Espresso official website and Milan Design Week Instagram page.
