Alternative rock guitarist David Kennedy has opened a fresh petite coffee roastery, James Coffee Co.in Poway, California, where he grew up with his longtime friend and musical collaborator Tom DeLonge of Blink-182.
Using the compact US Roaster Corp. model, James Coffee currently offers three single-roast coffees, as well as a house blend and an espresso blend. Here’s more from Kennedy — who has played in bands including Angels and Radio Waves and Box Car Racer — on his approach to baking:
Roasting is a key step in a coffee bean’s journey to creating a great cup of coffee, but even an experienced roaster can’t turn a bad coffee bean into a good one. That’s why in James’s Coffee we start our process from passionate farmers who carefully inspect every raw bean and strive to perfect each harvest.
We research different locations and only source from farmers who are committed to supporting their customers. communityproviding its employees with a vigorous environment and producing the highest quality coffee beans for us to bake.
From the hardworking hand that picks the coffee cherries to the piercing intuition of the roaster tending the beans, James’s Coffee makes every effort to instill in you the confidence that your coffee bean’s journey will end with a fantastic cup of coffee.
