We are excited to see this invigorating novel reconstruction from Nashville’s Matryoshka coffeeThe last winners of the Design Design award for outstanding menu design. Matryoshka first appeared on the page at the beginning of 2023, when they were a diminutive mini-bar with an area of 300 square feet, doing great things with a diminutive space. Well, this space has tripled, with significant expansion and many subsequent possibilities for the cafe to express the characteristic maximalistic explodey style.
For those who are not familiar, will you tell us about your company?
We are a colorful specialist cafe known for great coffee, warm and competent barista and comical drinks in a comical environment. Our goal is to make everyone feel welcome, regardless of whether they are novel in coffee or a long -time professional.
Can you tell us about a novel space?
Matryoshka was located at a distance of 300 square feet, inside a larger building with an area of 960 square feet, which we made available with a local company technology, Technical. In 2024 they moved to a novel location, so we expanded to take up the entire space. We completed the wall and replaced the bar with more, with more space for barists for work, and the capacity of the cafe doubled. This allowed us to be more capable, offering the same comical, intimate experience as before with a little breath.
What is your coffee approach?
Our approach to coffee is that it should be fun. A few examples of how we do it are drinks in our menu with sprinkles and glitter (confetti cuban), goods that are stupid and senseless, and we operate in a glowing, airy and incredibly colorful environment.
Any machines, coffee, special equipment set up?
In the case of espresso we have two groups Slayer Steam LP ia New Simonelli Mythos Climate Pro grinder. We have our coffee program Fetco 1231 V+ with a non -standard shower head and Bun g3 From Burrs SSP inside. To be sincere, Bunn is a sleeping agent. It can threaten well enough to take individual espresso shots and does it quite well.
How does your project consider sustainable development?
All our one -time applications are compostable and compost with a local composting company. In addition to ordinary ones, such as reusable straws and discounts were to-to-go, we always think about novel ways so that we can be more balanced, like other people we look at in the industry.
What is your hope for the opening date/month?
We just opened again on May 6, 2025.

Claro Studios in Nashville, TN for our cabinet and Red Rock Tileworks For our front tiles. The owner (me lol) Abbey Chiavario designed the space, designed there and painted Mual.
