Parental play area opens in Temecula
This month, a 30,000-square-foot parenting paradise with multiple playgrounds opened in Temecula.
There’s a zipline, a ninja course, and trampolines, and the main attraction is the chairs.
The idea: Empowered offspring can bounce off the walls — literally — and otherwise burn off energy. In the meantime, parents and caregivers can sit in said chairs and relax, or mindlessly scroll through TikTok, shop for groceries online, sign kids up for summer camp, or get on with other work.
The Sky Zone An indoor playground and trampoline park opened this month at 26201 Santa Ynez Road, near Promenade Temecula Shopping Center.
The company has three locations in San Diego County and 16 in Southern California. With the opening in Riverside County, the company is further expanding its market reach in Southern California. It recently opened locations in Rancho Cucamonga and plans additional locations in San Bernardino, Alhambra and Chino Hills.
A full-day pass in Temecula costs $38.99.
Subversive espresso map
Fresh map makes it easier for coffee lovers to find non-Starbucks caffeine stations.
Can’t blame it on Starbucks. But sometimes some people want something different.
A map named by its creator Nahbucksscoured the internet to create a map of coffee shops in the US. These include Starbucks coffee shops, Starbucks coffee shops, other chains and independent coffee shops. Added value: Starbucks locations are marked in obscure green on the map and non-Starbucks locations are marked in airy green for a quick visual guide. Dunkin’ coffee has its own orange label.
Lists over 68,000 coffee shops.
The map was met with a mix of praise and criticism on Reddit, where someone asked for a Canadian version. Another person noted that just because a coffee shop isn’t a Starbucks doesn’t mean it serves good coffee.
While you can’t search the map by zip code, a glance at the dot locations in San Diego shows that Ocean Beach, Barrio Logan and North Park are good places for coffee. Local Starbucks generally overlap with two types of areas: tourism and shopping malls.
“The number of Starbucks locations can be overwhelming and make you feel like you’re the only option for a quick coffee, but that’s not the case. I created this map because I’m passionate about helping people realize how much better local coffee shops are compared to a crappy Starbucks. There are so many gems waiting to be discovered.”
