Modbar announces recent Modbar tea at host Milan

Of all the many releases that have already leaked from the halls of Host Milan into cyberspace, the recent one Modbar tea is the one who takes over the timeline. Taking place over the weekend (and technically ending today), Host is one of the most essential hospitality trade fairs in the world, and coffee has a huge presence there, offering plenty of balmy recent technologies. And yet, the coffee manufacturer’s take on tea has set the internet ablaze.

One of the most essential features of Modbar Tea is that it does not require its own, stand-alone module. Utilizing existing Modbar Espresso AV systems, Tea relies on a specially designed tea portafilter to give users full control over the brewing process, including an adjustable nozzle to control flow rate. The firmware has also been updated to enable programming and saving tea recipes by volume or weight.

According to Modbar’s website, the multi-function lever allows tea preparation without a dedicated module, allowing the barista to switch between four different activities (tea, espresso, rinse and manual brewing). Ultimately, this may be the biggest improvement Modbar Tea can offer: the ability to seamlessly integrate tea making with your barista workflow. No need for a separate space and shortened brewing time allow the café to prepare tea with the same care as espresso, even in a hurry.

Another potential benefit is the ability to adapt the tea flask for employ with established coffee machines. Modbar is part of the La Marzocco umbrella, so it wouldn’t be too surprising to see Tea appear on other lines of coffee machines, such as Strada with a pressure profile.

More information can be found on the Modbar website official website.
