*NSYNC and Backstreet Boys join forces to sing about iced coffee

We live in an increasingly divided world, through politics, culture, and a million other lines in the sand that we draw between us and them. But coffee is one of the few things that unites us, that brings us closer together. And once again, it has managed to forge a truce and find common cause between two of the greatest rivals of a generation. I’m talking, of course, about the blood feud between the Backstreet Boys and *NSYNC.

Two of the most popular boy bands of the ’90s and early ’00s put their differences aside and members of both bands joined forces to form The Iced Boys, a supergroup created to celebrate greatness Dunkin’ Donuts‘ iced coffee. (Disclaimer: Size for promotional purposes only. Actual size may vary.)

As reported DrumsThe Iced Boys consists of Joey Fatone of *NYSNC and AJ McLean of The Backstreet Boys. The duo’s first track, “Iced Like My Coffee,” is part of The Iced EP, a five-track album about Dunkin’ coffee available exclusively on Spotify. The other tracks, which are just eight minutes long, are titled “Refresher Season,” “SPARKD’ UP,” and “All I Need is An Iced Coffee,” and are performed by Peyton Mackenzie and August Roads.

But of course the Iced Boys are the stars of the show, and “Iced Like My Coffee” is the lead single, with a video to boot. Fatone and McLean are never far from the iced coffee, singing lyrics like “You got me iced” and “Don’t dunk away my heart again,” suggesting that his heart has been dunked before, and that it wasn’t a pleasant experience.

The fresh album is part of Dunkin’ Terns’ summer advertising campaign created in partnership with Artists’ Capitalproduction company of the most celebrated Bostonians in the world, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck.

This shows the true unifying power of coffee. If members of the rival factions can put their differences aside for the sake of their love of coffee (and probably a paycheck), perhaps there is hope for us all yet.
