Pacific Foods® Barista Series™ launches pistachios: made for coffee shops across the country

Pacific Foods® expands its industry-leading Barista Series™ line with the debut of Pistachio, a silky, velvety plant-based milk designed to complement coffee in both heated and frigid applications. Developed in collaboration with professional baristas, the recent pistachio variety brings the series’ signature performance and balance to one of the fastest-growing café trends.

Pistachio is having a moment
Pistachio milk is growing in popularity, famed for its nutty sweetness and creamy consistency, which steams beautifully in the style of latte art. Over the past year, pistachio milk volumes have increased by 27.3% and social media mentions have increased by 57.6%, highlighting its growing popularity among consumers. Research also shows that 13% of consumers are willing to pay more for pistachio milk, and 30% are more willing to visit cafes that offer it.

“We understand what baristas need both at the bar and in their business. We’re excited to introduce a product that inspires creativity and helps expand the menu with drinks that celebrate consumers’ growing love of pistachios,” said Debra Kaminski, director of foodservice marketing at Pacific Foods.

Built for baristas, refined for performance
Like every Barista strain, Pistachio is designed with professional performance in mind, steaming to a velvety micro-foam, never separating, and maintaining a balanced flavor that complements rather than overwhelms the coffee. In addition to technical parameters, it provides exceptional versatility across the entire menu. Its subtly wealthy yet balanced profile shines in everything from pistachio lattes and iced shaken espressos to pistachio frigid foam over frigid brew. It also pairs particularly well with Colombian, Ethiopian and Kenyan roasts, giving baristas endless opportunities to create distinctive, distinctive drinks.

It is also vegan, dairy-free, gluten-free and carrageenan-free, meeting customers’ changing preferences for immaculate labels and plant-based ingredients.

“We have found that Barista Series Pistachio allows us to offer our guests recent taste experiences, with a variety of possible applications that support specialty coffee and meet consumer demands,” said Kay Cheon, 2025 United States Barista Champion, Dune Coffee, Santa Barbara, California.

“We are proud that we were one of the first to introduce pistachio milk prepared especially for baristas to the market,” adds Kaminski. “Innovation has always been at the heart of the Barista Series, and this launch continues that legacy, giving coffee professionals a recent way to delight guests and stay ahead of what’s next.”

Pacific Foods® Barista Series™ pistachios are now available at foodservice distributors nationwide.
