Portland: Deadstock Coffee is closing its original coffee shop, but a up-to-date location will be coming soon

December 19volPortland Deadstock coffee announced via Instagram that it will close its original location after 10 years. The news did not affect the flourishing Deadstock Cafe in nearby Beaverton, Oregon, which opened in 2024. Articles was written about what the closure meant for the city’s sneaker culture and for Ancient Town businesses in general.

It was all very sorrowful, but the sadness was short-lived and less than two weeks later Deadstock announced that they would be moving to the Hoxton Hotel, close to the original location.

According to a Dec. 31 press release, the up-to-date Deadstock location in Hoxton is expected to open this spring, in early March. The sneaker café will be the second local business to open at the hotel, following Pamana, the restaurant opened in 2025 by Ethan and Geri Leung, the husband-and-wife duo behind popular Portland Filipino food cart Baon Kainan.

“2025 marks a decade of success for the Deadstock brand, and fortunately we can continue to do what we do in Portland,” Williams states. “Being at The Hoxton in Portland means we can become an even more artistic hub for the community. I’m excited about the opportunities ahead for us to host more local gatherings, including coffee and shoe education, as well as serving guests in Portland and potentially bringing the Deadstock experience to other cities.”

So it appears that reports of Deadstock’s death were indeed premature. The Beaverton location is still alive and well, with the original Ancient Town Cafe not even leaving the block. More information can be found on the website Deadstock Coffee on Instagram.
