Stone Brewing Enters Coffee Space with NuZee DealDaily Coffee News by Roast Magazine

The first Stone Roasting coffee products.

Long-standing Californian craft brewery Stone Brewery is preparing the nationwide premiere of a coffee product called Stone Roasting.

The implementation involves an agreement with an external co-packer and coffee distributor. NuZee Inc. This comes about four months after NuZee signed a manufacturing partnership with the Southern California-based wholesale and private roaster Apfels Fine Coffees.

According to NuZee, Stone’s debut line of coffees will include single-serve “Dripkits,” single-serve brewing bags, 12-ounce bags of whole bean coffee, and pods.

Countdown clock StoneRoasting.com website says the company will begin taking pre-orders for its coffee products on July 31. NuZee says the five-year global licensing agreement with the brewery will cover grocery distribution, convenience and hospitality channels, and direct-to-consumer sales. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

NuZee previously partnered with Stone on a limited-edition coffee product as part of seasonal beer releases. Both companies maintain manufacturing facilities in San Diego County.

“We are thrilled to build on the success of our previous collaboration and expand our partnership with our San Diego neighbors at Stone,” said NuZee CEO Masa Higashida in the company’s announcement. Our team will leverage the incredible brand recognition and growing influence of the Stone brand, combining it with our unique coffees and coffee-related offerings.”

Japanese beer producer Sapporo acquires Stone Brewing for $165 million Last June.
