The eyes of the specialty coffee world are on Milan this week for HOST, a biennial trade fair that is one of the world’s largest for coffee equipment manufacturers. This year, HOST will also host the 25th annual World Barista Championship – watch for coverage from Sprudge in the coming days. But today we are paying special attention to the event that will take place on Saturday, October 18th, When La Marzoco brings them Out of the box series of events back to Milan.
Taking place at Super Studio Plus in the heart of Milan, the theme of this Out of the Box event is “Roots & Wings” and will feature a variety of demonstrations, tastings, talks and hands-on activities. It’s an immersive, all-day experience and a deep dive into the world of La Marzocco, with programming and hands-on demonstrations (and, of course, delicious coffee) from around the world.
This year’s list of speakers and activations is extensive, and every coffee lover will find something for themselves. Look for craft demonstrations and collaborations from brands such as Porsche, Nuova Ricambi, NEIT Whiskey and Victorinox.
At Out of the Box Milan you can also discover eye-catching fresh gear from the house of La Marzocco, including collaborations with Aimé Leon Dore, Rimowa and the fresh Officine Fratelli Bambi Strada. Speakers will include guests from FAO, the World Food Program and La Hacienda Esmeralda, as well as Rosslyn Coffee (London), Rita & Cocktails (Milan), Wilden Herbals and Porsche.
You can also expect quite a party after sunset, when live DJs take over the space and the party continues well into the evening, perhaps fueled by some Irish coffee throwing.
