As you sit there, anxiously refreshing your web browser for minor updates on the winner of the 2025 World Barista Championships ending in Milan, the Specialty Coffee Association is bringing you news about what’s happening in 2027. Announced on Friday, October 17, the launch of SCA Bogota, Colombia, is the host city of the World of Coffee 2027 and World Brewers Cup 2027 events.
After Indonesia in 2025 and Panama in 2026, Colombia will be the third consecutive coffee-producing country to host the World Coffee Championship. The announcement took place at Host Milan and was made jointly by SCA CEO Yannis Apostolopoulos and Colombian Federation of Coffee Growers (FNC) CEO Germán Alberto Bahamón Jaramillo. For the first time in 16 years, the World Coffee Championship will be held in the capital of Colombia.
According to press releasethe event “will usher in a up-to-date era in the SCA and FNC partnership as both organizations work together to bring global specialty coffee specialists and global competitors to a lively South American city located in one of the world’s most coffee-producing countries.”
Bogota joins Tokyo as host cities already announced for the World of Coffee 2027 and World Coffee Championship events; The 2027 World Barista Championship will be held in Tokyo.
