Local Roastery Opens in Mira Mesa
A moment ago, Show coffee announced the opening of a novel cafe in the Mira Mesa/Sorrento Valley area.
Jelynn Malone, co-founder and chief brand officer of Mostra, announced that construction is already underway and shared a few additional details.
“Mostra Mira Mesa is scheduled to open in Q2!!! I am especially excited to be a part of the Mira Mesa/Sorrento Valley community.
Some of my favorite restaurants are in this area, but there aren’t many coffee shops here, so we’re joyful to share our offerings with everyone and provide our guests See the experience. Plus, there is a huge Filipino-American community there and it’s great to be able to share our Filipino coffee and Filipino drinks with everyone. The menu is mostly the same, but with a few novel surprises!”
Malone did not respond when asked about the address of the novel location. This will be the fifth Mostra cafe.
40 cents off gas returns on Thursday
West Coast Circle K Gas stations are at it again: They’re offering discounts on gas for a restricted time: 40 cents off, three hours, for one day only.
Car washes offer 50% discount.
The promotion lasts on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
In a press release, Circle K described savings of “up to 40 cents per gallon,” in line with local regulations.
“In the spirit of the holidays, we are thrilled to have Fuel Day ‘Pop-up’ to facilitate navigate the festivities, shopping and travel,” said George Wilkins, Vice President of Circle K. “With these exclusive savings and our commitment to adding great value, we hope this season will be extra special and gleeful for our customers.”
“We created our Fuel Day events to raise awareness and excitement around Circle K fuel, surprise and delight our customers with great savings at the pump and introduce them to a variety of great deals in our stores,” he said. “But it’s also a great way to mobilize our store associates, who operate these events as an opportunity to connect with customers.”
He added that consumer response has been positive and the company plans to continue to look for “novel and different ways to offer value to our customers and neighbors through events like these.”
The average price of gasoline in San Diego is $4.824 for regular fuel, down from $5.20 a month ago and up 26 cents from a year ago, according to AAA.
The company does this periodically. The last discount in San Diego was in overdue November. Participating stations: Find a store.
Jewelry event at Fashion Valley
Fashion Valley now has a touch of Barcelona. TOUS, a jewelry maker founded in 1920 and known today for its up-to-date aesthetic, opened in the mall in October.
On Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., TOUS will celebrate the opening with a shopper-only event, with a DJ and gift bags while supplies last. The boutique is located on the second floor, next to Build-A-Bear.
With this opening, the company is doubling down on its efforts in San Diego County. It has another store here, in the Westfield Plaza Bonita mall in National City. Most of its U.S. stores are in Florida, and the closest one to San Diego or the West Coast — other than three in Tijuana — is at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas.
Her jewelry ranges from eccentric to understated. Sometimes both. An example of what TOUS sells: silver teddy bear ring for $109 and gold bulb earrings for $1,900.
Clothing store reopens after renovation
A blue-lettered sign outside the Lululemon store in the Village of La Jolla on Girard Avenue announces the store’s reopening: Saturday at 9 a.m.
While some people are joyful to head to the Vuori store a few doors down for yoga wear and other sports goods — or make a detour to the Lululemon store at Westfield UTC — the closure has proven inconvenient for others.
“My online order arrived today with security tags. I drove 30 minutes to this location to remove the security tag only to find out it was closed for renovations,” Melissa Hoon wrote in a recent Google review.
