It’s difficult not to notice the Opus Conical Burr coffee grinder with its minimalist design and current matte finish. In our tests, it was intuitive to operate, and we like that the lid shows the grind settings for espresso, drip, frigid brew, and other coffees, making it basic to find the right grind without having to refer to the user manual. It has 41 grind settings, and our pros found the grind settings to be right, allowing for even grinding across multiple settings. While the grinder doesn’t have the option to grind a specific number of cups, it does have grinds for 30, 60, and 90 seconds, as well as 2 minutes.
You don’t have to worry about starting your morning with a noisy grind or waking someone up, as this was one of the quietest grinders in our recent test. We found the coffee container basic to fill thanks to the huge opening, and we were impressed with the robust magnetic base that kept the grounds container in place. The only downside is that the grounds can fall out of the grinder when the cup is removed, causing a bit of a mess. It’s not as lofty as other coffee grinders, so storing under cabinets is basic.
