On this episode of Coffee Sprudgecast, we go on a delicious deep dive. It’s *all* about taste proof – and we’re here to prove that taste is what counts above all else. Listen as the intrepid founders glide through the modernity of romance in 2026, expose listeners to Orwell’s misuse of the word “purist,” and enjoy Caffe Umbria Bizzarri blend (like Bizzarri, like Bizzarri) as espresso. Like the mighty I Ching, like the collected works of Shakespeare, this episode is packed with content, so expect all of that and so much more.
Hosts Jordan Michelman and Zachary Carlsen – they are no strangers to building drinks, as evidenced by their 2023 text. create a signature drink worthy of a barista competition inspired Coffee in Stumptown modern seasonal Valentine’s Day offer. It’s all part of a modern video developed in collaboration with the company Ghirardelli. Throughout this series you’ll hear us rocking it and giving it our all, mochas, mochas, so buckle up, chocoholics: you’re in for a real treat.
To make mocha you need a Gear Garden, and the mocha in this episode was made from espresso extracted from… Flair Espresso 58 Plusmilk brewed by a Mini La Marzocco lineingredients were weighed using a handy scale Achaean lunar scaleand ground coffee using Orchard Encore ESP Pro.
As promised, we offer you, the listener that we are, our first recipe, thanks to which you too can dazzle your beloved (or loved one!) at home:
Cardamom rose sprinkled with strawberry-rhubarb mocha chocolate
1 tablespoon Ghirardelli Sweet powder ground with chocolate and cocoa
1 teaspoon Spice dust with cardamom and rose from DONA
1 1/2 tsp Strawberry-rhubarb jam from Oregon Growers
2 shots of espresso Caffe Umbria Bizzarri blend
4-6 ounces steamed Pistachio milk from the Pacific Barista series
Place the parched ingredients, jam and espresso in the bottom of the cup. Using espresso, gently mix all ingredients. Pour in some of the boiled (or icy) milk and stir again to mix everything nicely. Add the rest of the milk to taste and sprinkle with some rose cardamom pollen.
We liked our mocha Miir’s Limited Edition Lunar New Year 2026 Camp Mugs. Delicious!
ALSO IN THIS EPISODE Zachary prepares a “tiramisu” with Lotus Biscoff yogurt in the style of a popular TikTok trend. Unlike the popular trend on TikTok that only uses old-flavored (or unflavored) yogurts, we’re kicking it up a notch by introducing actually with coffee including “tiramisu” using Tillamook Stumptown Cold Brew Yogurt. There’s a lot of chewing and tasting and yes, it’s quite good.
A special thank you to all our wonderful podcast listeners, sponsors who make this all possible, and everyone else at Sprudgelandia.
