Austin Coffee Festival returns in September

Austin, Texas is one of the best coffee cities in the American South. The live music capital of the world is also a city that loves festivals, especially South by Southwest and the Austin City Limits Music Festival (RIP Fun Fun Fun Fest), and one of the coolest cities in America, period. (Balmy topic: Houston is actually the best city in Texas, and it’s not even close.)

So what can a city that loves coffee and festivals like Austin do? Of course, organize a coffee festival. And that’s exactly what they do. The festival, which takes place in delayed September Austin Coffee Festival are two days filled with coffee, coffee conversations, competitions and music. Tickets are already on sale.

The Austin Coffee Festival, now in its third year, will be hosted by Huge Picture Media, taking the reins from Craft Hospitality Group (and if 2024 will be more Austin than a Modern York media group taking the baton from another Modern York media group, I haven’t heard of it yet). At the heart of the consumer-focused festival are the roasters. So many roasters Nearly 40 different Austin-area roasters will be on hand to serve coffee to attendees at the event, which will take place at the Palmer Events Center on Sept. 28 and 29. The roasters include brands like Intelligence, Greater Goods Coffee, Coffee of Creation, The Medici, Barrett, MeritAND Cuvee.

But life isn’t just about drinking coffee. It’s also about talking about coffee and competing with coffee. That’s why the Austin Coffee Festival will feature three different educational sessions led by local industry professionals, including Mike McKim of Cuvée Coffee, Charles Emile Lauriat of Trianon CoffeeMichael Vaclav of the Medici and Kimberly Zash of Sightseer Coffee Roastery. There will also be a huge two-day latte art contest, with the winner receiving $500 cash. (Entries for the contest are open Here.)

And because it’s ATX, there will also be live music. Each session will feature a different selection of bands and live musicians, so be sure to check the lineup before choosing when to attend.

Tickets for the Austin Music Festival start at $24 for a single general admission session and go up to $58 for all-day VIP passes, which provide admission to both sessions of the day as well as early entry.

It’s going to be two days of caffeine-fueled first two days in Austin, which may not be blazing sizzling. For more information, a full list of roasteries, topics of discussion, and musical performances, or to purchase tickets, visit Austin Coffee Festival’s official website.
