Few things stir the coffee industry as much as the launch of the novel La Marzocco coffee machine. Anticipation has grown over the past few months for the novel, smaller and cheaper successor to the model Mini La Marzocco Linewhich was launched in 2015 and proved to be a major disruptor in the home coffee machine market. Now, in 2022, we can officially announce the release of the next coffee machine in the La Marzocco Home line: La Marzocco Linea Micra.
Teased by forum leaks that surfaced in overdue October, the Micra’s debut came amid a building buzz: the machine is smaller than the Linea Mini in every way, takes up 30% less space, and comes at a lower price, according to LM senior product manager Scott Guglielmino. “The Micra is the first time we’ve set out to create a home espresso machine that lives up to La Marzocco’s standards,” Guglielmino tells Sprudge. “Reliability, high performance, and consistency are what we pride ourselves on. This is a temperature-resistant home espresso machine that will last a lifetime.”
“If you need a featherlight commercial coffee or plan to serve coffee at your local farmers market someday, the Linea Mini is a great choice,” Guglielmino adds. “But if you’re looking for a good everyday home espresso option or the ultimate party espresso machine, the Micra is perfect.”

Linea Micra is the first La Marzocco coffee machine designed for home utilize. The Linea Micra is equipped with dual stainless steel boilers; one dedicated to steaming and one for brewing coffee, both with PID temperature control. These dual boilers allow for precise temperature control of the dedicated coffee boiler, as well as high-quality steam capable of producing incredible microfoam. The pressure is generated by a rotary vane pump, the same one used in coffee machines in coffee shops around the world. This strong pump produces the constant and consistent pressure required to brew incredible espresso. Additionally, the Linea Micra is equipped with the first of its kind interchangeable portafilter. The interchangeable portafilter allows home baristas to easily switch between spout and bottomless portafilter styles with a single device.
