If there is one truism for the American part World of Coffee from the house of SCA Expo, that’s all La Marzoco knows how to throw a great party. (There are other truisms, of course, but they mostly involve drinking too much espresso and getting bubbles.) The good fortune continued this year in San Diego with another furious espresso maker, this time with a yacht-rock theme.
Yes, yacht rock, the once-maligned genre of easy-listening rock music of the tardy 1970s and early 1980s that has, over the past few years, transcended ironic pleasure and become something more akin to… Whether you attribute it to Hall & Oates or an HBO documentary, the genre is experiencing a resurgence.
And La Marzocco Nautical Groove: Coffee Party the point is this. It will take place on Saturday, April 11vol at San Diego’s Bloom nightclub, the show will feature a soundtrack that includes velvety yacht rock hits and more than a few captain’s hats. It’s really just a way to relax after a long day at the convention center, but it’s also a pretty good excuse to throw a scarf around your neck. Who can get irate about that?
Due to the recent attacks in San Diego, Nautical Groove is an 21+ event only. For adults, participation in the afterparty at La Marzocco is completely free. Responses to the invitation are welcome and open to submission Herewhich will also enable you to sign up to receive further information about the event as it becomes available.
So lean on Steely Dan, Toto and Kenny Loggins – not like you’ll have to, because they’re instantly recognizable – and get ready for an amazing night full of sweet tones and good vibes. The yachts start spinning promptly at 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 11 at Bloom Nightclub at 919 Fourth Avenue, #apartment 100. More information can be found on the website Nautical Groove Page: Eventbrite Coffee Party.
